Day 01

Downtown Dubai

Downtown's icons in one day: soar up Burj Khalifa, explore The Dubai Mall and end at the fountain.

1. Morning

   Burj Khalifa

   Ride to the At the Top observation decks of Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, for a sweeping view over coast, desert and skyline. A booked morning slot means shorter queues and clearer glass before the afternoon haze settles over the city.

2. Late Morning

   The Dubai Mall

   Step directly into The Dubai Mall, among the largest shopping and leisure complexes anywhere. Beyond hundreds of stores you will find the waterfall sculpture and indoor attractions, so browse selectively and pace yourself rather than attempting to cover every wing.

3. Lunch

   Souk Al Bahar

   Cross the footbridge to Souk Al Bahar for lunch, an Arabesque complex of stone lanes and shaded terraces beside the lake. Its outdoor tables face the tower and fountain, a scenic, breezy place to eat before the afternoon heat peaks.

4. Afternoon

   Museum of the Future

   Taxi a short way to the Museum of the Future, the gleaming calligraphy wrapped torus on Sheikh Zayed Road. Its immersive floors explore space, ecology and wellbeing through art and technology, a thought provoking counterpoint to the day's sightseeing.

5. Late Afternoon

   City Walk

   Stroll City Walk, a stylish open air district of boutiques, cafes and street art near Downtown. Its landscaped avenues and public sculptures invite an easy wander, and it makes a relaxed late afternoon stop between the museum and the evening fountain show.

6. Evening

   The Dubai Fountain

   Settle by the lake for the Dubai Fountain, whose jets rise and sway to music and light after dark. Shows run every half hour or so into the evening, so find a spot on the promenade and enjoy more than one.

Day 02

Old Dubai and the Creek

Old Dubai by the Creek: heritage lanes, an abra crossing and the gold and spice souks.

1. Morning

   Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood

   Explore Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, a restored quarter of wind tower houses, courtyards and narrow lanes preserving pre oil Dubai. Galleries and heritage cafes fill the alleys, and the cultural centre offers insight into Emirati customs and everyday life.

2. Late Morning

   Abra ride across Dubai Creek

   Board a traditional abra at the creek, the wooden ferry crossing between Bur Dubai and Deira. It is among the city's cheapest, most authentic rides, gliding past working dhows with fine views of old trading warehouses along the banks.

3. Lunch

   Al Seef

   Pause at Al Seef for lunch, a creekfront district blending heritage facades with a modern promenade. Waterside tables serve regional and international dishes while dhows drift past, bridging old and new Dubai in one relaxed setting.

4. Afternoon

   Spice Souk

   Explore the Deira Spice Souk, alleys thick with saffron, cardamom, dried roses and incense. Merchants welcome you to smell and sample, and small, fairly priced bags of spice or tea make aromatic souvenirs to carry home.

5. Late Afternoon

   Gold Souk

   Wander the Deira Gold Souk, its windows ablaze with bracelets, chains and gem set pieces. Even browsing is a spectacle, and prices follow the daily gold rate plus a charge for craftsmanship, so bargaining is part of the ritual.

6. Evening

   Deira

   Finish the evening in Deira, old Dubai's busy commercial quarter, full of traditional eateries and street life. Ride the metro back toward your hotel afterward, closing a weekend that paired futuristic Downtown with the city's trading soul.
